Industry Specific ComplianceThe Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on September 14, 2026, withdrew its Order No. 23-1/2012-B&CS dated August 5, 2013, which required broadcasters to furnish weekly electronic information on the duration of advertisements carried on their TV channels. The earlier requirement was introduced to monitor compliance with the 12-minute-per-clock-hour ceiling on television advertisements under the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994.

The withdrawal follows the Central Government's removal of the 12-minute advertisement ceiling through the Cable Television Networks (Amendment) Rules, 2026, and TRAI's repeal of the Standards of Quality of Service (Duration of Advertisements in Television Channels) Regulations, 2012, along with related orders and directions, on September 10, 2026. Consequently, broadcasters are no longer required to furnish advertisement-duration details under the 2013 Order.
